Please park in the parking garage below the library accessible from Adams Street. You will be able to enter the library through the garage entrance early for workshop registration. All other entrances will open at 9am or 12pm respectively. Your parking will be validated only if you park in the library garage.
Course Description:
Being an effective supervisor and leader requires you to meet the big picture needs of your organization while simultaneously handling the "little details" that come from human interaction. Participants will learn how to:
- Supervise using coaching techniques
- Switch from reactive supervision to proactive supervision
- Create organization standards that encourage peer-to-peer accountability
- Utilize tactical planning to keep everyone moving toward common goals
- Develop strategies for effective meetings that make people look forward to, rather than dread, meeting time
About the Presenter:
Regina Podhorin brings 25 years experience in the nonprofit sector including 11 years as an Executive Director and 10 years as a consultant. With a BA in Sociology from Rutgers University and MA in Public Administration from Rider University she combines state and local experience as both a funder and program evaluator. Primary areas of specialty are behavioral healthcare, domestic violence and sexual violence, crisis response and prevention services. Ms. Podhorin brings a wealth of hands-on experience and expert facilitation skills to any assignment. She has also developed exciting models for consulting in outcome development, outcome measurement, strategic planning, budgeting and board governance.
