Family Philanthropy: David and Georgia Welles
A spirit of "family philanthropy" was something David Welles, Sr., inherited from his father, and he wanted to ensure that the family tradition was kept alive. The Rubini Family Story
After the sudden death of their 10-year-old daughter, Claire, in 2000, Brad and Julie Rubini wanted to honor their daughter and keep her spirit alive by focusing on her love of books, storytelling and music. Nurturing the Family Tree: Dr. Amjad and Dottie Hussain
Almost 100 years after his grandfather became a physician in Pakistan, S. Amjad Hussain, M.D. began his medical career in Toledo and felt an obligation to build bridges of understanding between the two countries. The Foundation was able to help him convert a donation of real estate into a donor advised fund that will support the Toledo community in perpetuity.

Perennial Giving: Sam Carson
Toledo resident Sam Carson wanted to preserve a family tradition of giving, while also allowing his entire family to participate in deciding how their charitable dollars should be distributed. With the assistance of the Foundation, the Carson Family Metroparks Fund and Carson Family Fund have helped them make perennial giving a true family affair.
