TCF Awards $82,275 to Four Nonprofit Organizations

The Board of Trustees of the Toledo Community Foundation (TCF) recently announced $82,275 in grants from its Community Funds to four area nonprofit organizations.

Grants were recently awarded to the following organizations:

  • Campaign for Migrant Worker Justice - $30,000
    To support the creation of a new legal immigration services program for Latino immigrants residing in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.
  • Toledo Ballet Association - $7,275
    To support the Summer Musical Theater Program. The program is offered in collaboration with the Catholic Club and provides children the opportunity to participate in dance instruction and perform in a musical production.
  • Toledo Botanical Garden - $25,000
    To support the creation of the City Farm Youth Leadership Corps which will provide training and paid employment to youth participants of Toledo GROWs, which is the community gardening outreach program of the Toledo Botanical Garden.
  • St. Paul's Community Center - $20,000
    To support an expansion to the Payee Program which assists individuals with severe mental
    illness or developmental disabilities manage their financial resources.

Grants from the Foundation's Community Funds are considered three times annually, and are awarded to nonprofit, charitable organizations. The next deadline for receipt of proposals in the Foundation office is September 1, 2009.
