Oswald Supporting Organization Awards Grants
TOLEDO, OHIO, December 3, 2009 - The Oswald Supporting Organization of the Toledo Community Foundation recently awarded grants totaling $51,750 to four nonprofit organizations.
Catholic Charities, Diocese of Toledo, Inc. - A $15,750 grant was awarded to support renovations and materials for the La Posada Family Emergency Shelter.
Monroe Street Neighborhood Center - A $20,000 grant was awarded to support recreational activities for neighborhood youth.
Toledo Bar Association Foundation - A $6,000 grant was awarded to support the Pro Bono Program.
Toledo Symphony - A $10,000 grant was awarded to support the Community Music Lessons Program at the Lucas County Youth Treatment Center.
The Oswald Supporting Organization was created by Joan and the late Chuck Oswald in 2000 to support projects in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan that enable families to develop skills to nuture each other and to promote the advancement, self-sufficiency and intellectual, social, emotional and cultural growth of woman and children.
The Toledo Community Foundation, Inc. is a public charitable organization created by citizens of our community to enrich the quality of life for individuals and families in our area. In existence since 1973, the Foundation now has more than 450 funds with assets of approximately $129 million. The Foundation provides philanthropic services for individuals, families, businesses and corporations to meet their charitable giving needs.
