TCF Awards Grants from Fran and Dick Anderson Community Support Fund

TOLEDO, OHIO, September 7, 2010 - The Board of Trustees of Toledo Community Foundation, Inc. recently approved grants totaling $139,000 from the Fran and Dick Anderson Community Support Fund to 17 area nonprofit organizations. 

The Fran and Dick Anderson Community Support Fund was established in late 2009 for the sole purpose of supporting the operations of charitable organizations that may be suffering from the recent economic downturn or other special circumstances.  This is the third round of proposals reviewed this year, and the Fund has now disbursed a total of $527,000. 

The following grants have recently been awarded to support these organizations' operations:
 American Red Cross, Greater Toledo Area Chapter - $10,000
 Arts Commission of Greater Toledo - $5,000
 ASSETS Toledo - $5,000
 Black Swamp Area Council - $1,000
 Black Swamp Conservancy - $10,000
 Catholic Charities, Diocese of Toledo, Inc. - $10,000
 Catholic Club - $10,000
 East Toledo Family Center - $5,000
 Family Service of Northwest Ohio - $5,000
 Imagination Station - $10,000
 Kateri Catholic School System - $10,000
 Lutheran Social Services of Northwestern Ohio - $15,000
 Masterworks Chorale - $5,000
 Sauder Village - $20,000
 Sylvania Franciscan Academy - $5,000
 Water for Ishmael - $3,000
 Women Blessing Women - $10,000
