TCF Fund Awards Grants Totaling $112,125 to Nine Nonprofit Organizations

The Stranahan Supporting Organization Announces Grants

TOLEDO, OHIO, November 19, 2010 - The Stranahan Supporting Organization of Toledo Community Foundation recently awarded grants totaling $112,125 to nine nonprofit organizations:

Catholic Club - $15,000 to support child care services.

Family and Child Abuse Prevention Center - $20,000 to support the Domestic Violence Advocacy Program, which helps victims of domestic violence as they navigate the court system.

International Boxing Club, Inc. - $10,000 to support the Vocational Training Center, which provides youth with practical, hands-on training in construction, plumbing and electrical installation.

Madd Poets Society, Inc. - $2,500 to support programming that exposes at-risk teens to the art of poetry through written and spoken form. 

Monroe Street Neighborhood Center - $20,000 to support social service programs to those residing in the neighborhoods near Jermain Park.

Planned Parenthood of Northwest Ohio, Inc. - $15,000 to support the cost of providing health care services to low-income women.

Toledo Ballet Association - $3,625 to support the 2011 Summer Musical Theater Program.  The program is offered in collaboration with the Catholic Club and provides children the opportunity to participate in dance instruction and perform in a musical production.

Toledo Botanical Garden - $25,000 to support the City Farm Youth Leadership Corps, which provides training and paid employment to youth participants of Toledo GROWs.

Toledo Repertoire Theatre - $1,000 to support the Young Playgoers Series, which provides theatrical performances to children attending Toledo Public Schools.
