TCF Awards Final Grants from Fran and Dick Anderson Community Support Fund

TOLEDO, OHIO, February 8, 2011 – The Board of Trustees of Toledo Community Foundation, Inc. recently approved grants totaling $192,896.60 from the Fran and Dick Anderson Community Support Fund to 18 area nonprofit organizations. 

The Fran and Dick Anderson Community Support Fund was established in late 2009 for the sole purpose of supporting the operations of charitable organizations that may be suffering from the recent economic downturn or other special circumstances.  This is the fourth and final round of proposals reviewed for disbursements from this Fund.  The Fund disbursed a total of $719,896.60 in the past 12 months.

The following grants have recently been awarded to support these organizations’ operations:

 Aurora Project, Inc. - $5,000
 Central City Ministries of the Diocese of Toledo - $5,000
 Collingwood Arts Center - $5,000
 Interfaith Hospitality Network of Metro Toledo - $5,000
 Greater Toledo Urban League - $10,000
 Harbor House - $2,000
 Joseph J. and Marie P. Schedel Foundation - $1,000
 Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio - $5,000
 Lott Industries - $5,000
 Martin Luther King/Kitchen for the Poor, Inc. - $5,896.60
 Partners for Clean Streams, Inc. - $2,000
 Sofia Quintero Art and Cultural Center - $5,000
 Toledo Symphony - $100,000
 The Cocoon Shelter - $5,000
 The Learning Club of Toledo - $5,000
 Toledo School for the Arts - $10,000
 YMCA of Greater Toledo - $15,000
