TCF Awards Grants Totaling $9,378 to Support Youth Programs

TOLEDO, OHIO, March 31, 2011 – The Board of Trustees of Toledo Community Foundation, Inc. recently approved grants totaling $9,378 from the Bill Rowles Youth Foundation Fund to support programs in Northwest Ohio that enhance the lives of young people under the age of 18.  Grants were awarded to six area nonprofit organizations. 

 East Toledo Family Center - $2,000 was awarded to support the Hip Hop Dance Program.

 Imagination Station - $2,800 was awarded to support on-site science programming within the Otsego school district.

 Judan Judo - $2,000 was awarded to support locker room repairs and the purchase of a new washer and dryer.

 Read for Literacy - $800 was awarded to support Creating Young Readers operations at the Rossford site.

 St. John’s Nurturing Center - $778 was awarded to purchase building materials to expand the organization’s playground.

 University of Toledo Foundation - $1,000 was awarded to purchase books for Reach Out and Read’s Wood County locations.
