12 Recipients of Owens Corning Foundation Scholarship Announced

TOLEDO, OHIO, June 17, 2011 – The Board of Trustees of Toledo Community Foundation, Inc. is pleased to announce 12 recipients of $2,500 Owens Corning Foundation Scholarships: 

 Alex Brest, Newark, OH (son of Howard Brest) attending Miami University;
 John Clark, Holland, OH (son of Diane Clark) attending The Ohio State University;
 Katherine Lucas, Curtice, OH (daughter of Dan Lucas) attending The Ohio State University;
 Melissa Martinez, Waxahachie, TX (daughter of Mario Martinez) attending Rice University;
 Bryan Metzger, Newark, OH (son of David Metzger) attending The Ohio State University-Newark;
 Marissa Moore, Granville, OH (daughter of William Moore) attending The Ohio State University;
 Kimberly Nguyen, Fort Smith, AR (daughter of Duc Nguyen) attending University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences;
 Lindsay Ridinger, Medina, OH (daughter of Ann Moorehart) attending Kent State University;
 Trae Robison, St. Albans, WV (son of S. Renee Robison) attending Washington University in St. Louis;
 Britney Ryan, Hebron, OH (daughter of Steven Yoder) attending Central Ohio Technical College;
 Brandi Scarboro, Anderson, SC (daughter of Tammy Powell) attending University of South Carolina (Columbia);
 Jonathan Wolff, Toledo, OH (son of Patrick Wolff) attending Bowling Green State University.

This scholarship was introduced in 2008, and is administered by Toledo Community Foundation.  It provides annual, renewable awards for graduating high school students and current college students who are dependents of Owens Corning employees.  The scholarship was
created to assist students who demonstrate scholastic aptitude and financial need in reaching their full potential.

The scholarship was established by the Owens Corning Foundation which, since 1978, has championed programs that provide access to education and affordable housing for those most in need. 

Applications for the Owens Corning Foundation Scholarship of the Toledo Community Foundation are available through the Human Resources Departments of all Owens Corning facilities, and are also available on the Foundation’s website at www.toledocf.org, generally after the first of the year. The application deadline is in March of each year.
