TCF Announces $22,331 in grants from Helping Hens Fund

Six Nonprofits Benefit for Programs Providing Sports and Recreation Services

TOLEDO, OHIO, June 10, 2013 The Board of Trustees of Toledo Community Foundation (TCF) recently approved $22,331 in grants from the Toledo Mud Hens Baseball Club’s Helping Hens Fund to six area nonprofit organizations. 

Grants from the Toledo Mud Hens Baseball Club’s Helping Hens Fund are made to nonprofit organizations providing sports and recreation services to youth enrolled in kindergarten through the twelfth grade.

 Grants were made to:

 Anthony Wayne Crew Foundation received $3,000 to purchase oars for the crew club.

 Geary Family YMCA received $6,000 to purchase scoreboards for Foundation Park located in Fostoria.

 Perrysburg Heights Community Association received $6,850 to support summer and afterschool sports programming.

 Redeemer Lutheran Church received $3,750 to support educational and recreational summer programs.

 Salem Lutheran Church received $780 to offer softball and basketball programs.

 The University Church received $1,951 to support a physical fitness, nutrition and gardening program at Reynolds Elementary School.
