Toledo Community Foundation Announces Two New Employees

Keith Burwell, president of Toledo Community Foundation, Inc., is pleased to announce the appointment of Kenneth C. Frisch, ACFRE, as the Foundation’s new Senior Philanthropic Services Officer.

“As we work to implement a more focused approach to maximize the impact of philanthropy throughout the region, and collaborate with local and national partners that can contribute to progress toward our goals, we know that Ken will provide leadership in this effort,” said Burwell.  “We are fortunate to have someone with Ken’s fundraising background and experience to lead the Philanthropic Services area for our organization.” 

Ken was most recently the Director of Development and Director of the capital campaign at Hospice of Northwest Ohio.  His prior fundraising experience includes as Director of Gift Planning/Senior Development Specialist at Bowling Green State University and Director of Development at Ohio University.  An Advanced Certified Fund Raising Executive (ACFRE), he has more than 34 years of development experience, as well as being one of 175 fundraisers to be certified as a Master Teacher through the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Faculty Training Academy.  In 2009, he received the Community Counselling Service (CCS) Award for Outstanding Fundraising Professional.  

Ken received a M.F.A from Ohio University and a M.Ed. from Wright State University following his undergraduate studies at Ohio University.  

The Foundation is also pleased to announce the addition of Patrick T. Johnston to the staff as a Program Officer.   

Patrick comes to the Foundation from Owens State Community College, where he was a Grants Developer and worked to secure grants from Federal, State and Foundation sources.  He also gained experience in program development while at the National Parks Service, Metroparks of the Toledo Area and the Maumee Valley Heritage Corridor.   

“Patrick brings a breadth of experience in a wide array of subject areas. He is a tremendous asset to our team,” said Senior Program Officer Anneliese Grytafey.  

Patrick received a B.S. in Journalism from Bowling Green State University and a Masters of Arts in History from the University of Kentucky.
