TCF Fund Awards Grants Totaling $159,415 to Eight Nonprofit Organizations

TOLEDO, OHIO, November 17, 2014 – The Stranahan Supporting Organization of Toledo Community Foundation recently awarded grants totaling $159,415 to eight nonprofit organizations:

Adelante, Inc. – $20,000 to support the Leamos Juntos program, which provides early literacy education services to Latino children.


Aspire – $15,000 to support operating expenses for this program that harnesses the collective impact of our entire community to guide the success of Lucas County children from cradle to career.


Partners in Education – $25,000 to support the College and Career Coach program which is designed to improve high school graduation rates and prepare students for post-secondary education or career success.


Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio-Northwest Ohio Region – $25,000 to support reproductive healthcare services for low-income patients.


Social Services for the Arab Community – $25,000 to provide basic needs and case management services.


Toledo Area Ministries –$25,000 to support the Second Chance program which provides counseling and supportive services for victims of human trafficking.


Toledo Opera Association – $5,085 to support Opera Tells a Story, an arts-based early learning and literacy program for children three to five years of age.


United North Corporation – $19,330 to support upgrades to the lighting system at the Ohio Theatre.
