Toledo Community Foundation Awards Grants Totaling $135,498 to Six Nonprofit Organizations

The Board of Trustees of Toledo Community Foundation, Inc. recently awarded grants totaling $135,498 from its Community Funds to six nonprofit organizations.  
Grants from the Foundation’s unrestricted funds (aka Community Funds) are considered two times annually, and are awarded only to nonprofit, charitable organizations. The next deadline for receipt of proposals is January 15, 2015. Toledo Community Foundation is the largest philanthropic organization in Northwest Ohio, committed to building healthy communities and promoting the responsible stewardship of resources. 
Grants were recently awarded to the following organizations: 
Arts Commission of Greater Toledo, Inc. – was awarded $32,000 to support the Culture Loops program. 
Law and Leadership Institute LLC – was awarded $20,000 to pilot an advanced writing composition component for high school students attending the law-based educational enrichment program.
Programs to Educate All Cyclists – was awarded $20,000 to support the Summer Bike Program that teaches safe cycling skills to students with disabilities.
The Foundation Center / Cleveland – was awarded $3,500 to support programming in Northwest Ohio. 
United Way of Greater Toledo – was awarded $10,000 to support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program. 
WSOS Community Action Commission – was awarded $49,998 to support the expansion of the United Toledo Youthbuild program that provides education, vocational training and work experiences to at-risk youth.
