Funding Opportunity Supports Early Childhood Education

Published on 06/22/2015 by Joanne Olnhausen

TOLEDO, OHIO, June 22, 2015 – The Board of Trustees of the Anderson Foundation has again partnered with Toledo Community Foundation to release a funding opportunity to area nonprofit organizations providing services that are aligned with the goals of Aspire. This year marks the second release of the funding opportunity, which supports early childhood education.

Aspire is a collective impact partnership that convenes community leaders around a common “cradle to career readiness” agenda.  It connects service providers, citizens, researchers, educators and business leaders around the common goal of helping children become healthy, caring, responsible adults.  For more information on Aspire, visit www.aspiretoledo.org.

Together, the Anderson Foundation and Toledo Community Foundation seek to support projects, programs or services that promote cradle to career success for children in the greater Toledo area. One of Aspire’s five key outcomes is that all children in Lucas County enter kindergarten ready to succeed.  In support of this effort, this funding opportunity will specifically seek proposals from nonprofit organizations that articulate a plan to improve outcomes in the area of early childhood development.  Organizations that utilize evidence-based practices to drive improvements in outcomes measured by Aspire and that integrate parent engagement will receive favorable consideration.  Funds are limited and will be awarded on a competitive basis.

The request for proposals was made available to area nonprofit organizations via the Toledo Community Foundation website on June 16, 2015.  Applications for this opportunity will be accepted online through Toledo Community Foundation’s website: www.toledocf.org.  The deadline for proposals is August 15, 2015.  Organizations considering applying are encouraged to contact Toledo Community Foundation at 419.241.5049.
