$12,000 in Grants Approved to Support Youth Programs

TOLEDO, OHIO, May 9, 2017 – The Board of Trustees of Toledo Community Foundation, Inc. recently approved grants totaling $12,000 from the Bill Rowles Youth Foundation Fund to support programs in northwest Ohio that enhance the lives of young people under the age of 18. Grants were awarded to five area nonprofit organizations.

Ability Center of Greater Toledo – a $3,000 grant was awarded to support a program that teaches independent living and workforce skills to youth.

Family and Child Abuse Prevention Center – a $1,200 grant was awarded to support the delivery of child abuse awareness and prevention training.

Girl Scouts of Western Ohio – a $3,000 grant was awarded to support girls from Lucas and Wood County to attend camps.

Serenity Farm Equestrian Center – a $1,800 grant was awarded to support an equine-based experiential learning program for youth.

Zepf Community Mental Health Center – a $3,000 grant was awarded to support the construction of a basketball court at a youth runaway shelter.
