Helping Hens Fund Announces $58,400 in Grants

TOLEDO, OHIO, June 16, 2017 – The Board of Trustees of Toledo Community Foundation (TCF) recently approved $58,400 in grants from the Toledo Mud Hens Baseball Club’s Helping Hens Fund to eight area nonprofit organizations.

Grants from the Toledo Mud Hens Baseball Club’s Helping Hens Fund are made to nonprofit organizations providing sports and recreation services to youth enrolled in kindergarten through twelfth grade.

Grants were made to:

Anne Grady Corporation - $3,000 to support summer camp programming for participants with developmental disabilities.

Believe Center - $10,000 to purchase supplies for the baseball, basketball, boxing, soccer and football programs.

Girls on the Run of Northwest Ohio - $2,700 to support the running program.

Grace Community Center - $2,500 to purchase supplies for weekend youth programming.

The Miracle League of Northwest Ohio - $30,000 to support the resurfacing of an all-inclusive baseball field and to construct a new restroom and concession building.

Padua Center - $1,800 to support costs for a summer camp program and to purchase recreational equipment.

Toledo-Lucas County Police Athletic League (PAL) - $5,000 to support the youth baseball league.

The Sight Center - $3,400 to support a Goalball competition in 2017.
