TOLEDO, OHIO, October 5, 2017 – Toledo Community Foundation’s board of trustees approved more than $2.7 million in grants and distributions at their September board meeting.

Of the grants awarded, more than $1.8 million are distributions from 112 different designated, donor-advised, donor directed, agency endowment, field of interest and unrestricted funds; and more than $940,000 in scholarships to area youth were paid out. Grants and scholarships paid out in 2017 to date total more than $9 million.

Individuals, families and businesses are making a difference in our community by investing in funds and initiatives specifically designated by the community foundation and its board of directors to address the most critical needs of our community. Anyone can help make our community better by creating your own fund; contributing to an unrestricted fund for long-term grantmaking; donating to our operating endowment to support the Foundation’s mission; or help support a special initiative to help people who need assistance right now.
