Oswald Supporting Organization of the Toledo Community Foundation Awards Grants Totaling $128,492

TOLEDO, OH, May 29, 2018 – The Oswald Supporting Organization of the Toledo Community Foundation recently awarded grants totaling $128,492 to seven nonprofit organizations:

Connecting Kids to Meals – a grant of $25,000 was awarded to support afterschool and summer meal services for children.

Great Lakes Collaborative for Autism – a grant of $20,000 was awarded to support Venture Bound, a program that prepares young people with autism spectrum disorder for employment and/or higher education.

Habitat for Humanity – Maumee Valley – a grant of $18,992 was awarded to support the Home Repair Ministry program.

Jenn and Joan’s Safe Place, Inc. – a grant of $10,000 was awarded to renovate the shelter kitchen.

Toledo Day Nursery – a grant of $5,000 was awarded to support parent engagement activities and purchase educational supplies and toys.

Toledo Orchestra Association, Inc. – a grant of $25,000 was awarded to support the Community Music Lessons program.

TutorSmart – a grant of $24,500 was awarded to support an academic tutoring pilot project.

The Oswald Supporting Organization was created by the late Joan and Chuck Oswald in 2000 to support projects in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan that enable families to develop skills to nurture each other and to promote the advancement, self-sufficiency and intellectual, social, emotional and cultural growth of woman and children.
