Toledo Community Foundation Announces Awards Totaling $36,405 From the Toledo Walleye Hockey Club’s Wishing Well Fund

Specific grant guidelines and grant application forms are provided for each grant opportunity as each fund supports a unique area. 

TOLEDO, OHIO, December 12, 2018 – The Board of Trustees of Toledo Community Foundation recently approved $36,405 in grants from the Toledo Walleye Hockey Club’s Wishing Well Fund to eight area nonprofit organizations.  

Grants from the Toledo Walleye Hockey Club’s Wishing Well Fund are made to nonprofit organizations providing programming that promotes overall fitness and wellness of children during cold weather months.

Grants were made to: 

  • Adaptive Sports Program of Ohio - $7,000 to support the Toledo Sled Hockey team. 
  • Autism Model School - $3,300 to purchase equipment for an exercise program. 
  • Believe Center, Inc. - $5,000 to support sports programming in south Toledo. 
  • Lutheran Social Services of Northwestern Ohio - $1,050 to support a new healthy living program at the Scott Community HUB location. 
  • Toledo Ballet Association - $5,127 to expand the Afterschool Dance program in partnership with Boys and Girls Clubs of Toledo.
  • Toledo Football Academy - $5,000 to support a soccer program for children with disabilities.
  • The University Church - $4,390 to launch a new youth basketball league in south Toledo.
  • YMCA and JCC of Greater Toledo - $5,538 to support running clubs at multiple Toledo Public Schools during cold weather months.
