Greater Toledo Community Foundation is a community asset. The Foundation is a collection of funds established by donors interested in philanthropy and supporting northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. Currently, the assets of the Foundation are approximately $304 million, made up of over 900 funds. The Foundation is also the largest grantmaker in the Toledo region, granting approximately $20 million a year.
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Fund Accounting Manager will be responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of the Foundation's 900+ funds. This includes reviewing the day to day finance department activities that affect the fund balances including: gift entry, grant entry, bank deposits, money orders, recordkeeping fees and administrative fees.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare all monthly trust reconciliations
Reconcile all checking accounts monthly
Prepare monthly Donor Report spreadsheet
Set up new funds in Community Suite software
Maintain the spending policy spreadsheet (update quarterly, calculate annually)
Verify fund balances for donor directed and donor advised grants
Maintain spreadsheet of Restricted Funds and enter into software annually
Process Interfund transactions
Prepare Annual Audit and Tax work papers
MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
4 year degree, preferably with a concentration in Accounting
3 to 5 years in a supervisory role
Presentation Skills
Ability to multi-task
Meet monthly financial deadlines
KEY COMPETENCIES
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to identify best practices in all areas of Finance
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While this is mainly an office position, the ability to lift small boxes (letter stock, postcard stock, paper) is required occasionally.
