TOLEDO, OHIO, December 12, 2022 – The Board of Trustees of Greater Toledo Community Foundation recently approved grants totaling $496,567 from The Sisters of St. Francis (Sylvania) Foundation Donor Advised Fund. Grants were awarded to 16 area nonprofit organizations.
- Ability Center of Greater Toledo – $45,000 was awarded to support the inclusive recreational opportunities.
- Advocates for Basic Legal Equality, Inc. – $50,000 was awarded to support the Immigration Advocacy Project.
- Baby University – $40,000 was awarded to support the Thrive Program.
- Back to the Wild – $50,000 was awarded to purchase food for injured wildlife and wildlife ambassadors.
- Bittersweet Farms – $20,000 was awarded to support the Creative Arts program.
- Habitat for Humanity-Maumee Valley – $25,000 was awarded to support the roof replacement program.
- Halim Clinic – $8,000 was awarded to support healthcare services for immigrants, refugees and others who are uninsured.
- La Conexion – $35,000 was awarded to support the Immigrant Rights project.
- Logistic Assistance for Migrant People (LAMP) – $40,000 was awarded to support provision of basic needs assistance to immigrant families.
- Lourdes University – $50,000 was awarded to support the Like Me program, which is dedicated to diversifying the local educator workforce by recruiting, preparing and supporting students of color for careers in teaching.
- Nature’s Nursery – $6,000 was awarded to support the Greener Garden project.
- Off the Streets Toledo – $5,000 was awarded to support housing assistance services.
- Partners for Clean Streams – $16,867 was awarded to support the Clean Your Streams program.
- Sisters of St. Francis of Tiffin – $45,000 was awarded to support Project Hope.
- Sofia Quintero Art & Cultural Center – $26,600 was awarded to support the Broadway Urban Garden & Greenspace program.
- Women of Toledo – $34,100 was awarded to support the economic development initiative for women.
