TOLEDO, OH, April 29, 2020 – The Oswald Supporting Organization of the Greater Toledo Community Foundation recently awarded grants totaling $138,664 to ten nonprofit organizations:

After School All-Stars – a grant of $9,664 was awarded to support afterschool enrichment services.

Arts Commission of Greater Toledo – a grant of $10,000 was awarded to support the Young Artists at Work youth employment program.

Connecting Kids to Meals – a grant of $25,000 was awarded to support afterschool and summer meal services for children.

Franciscan Shelters dba Bethany House – a grant of $24,000 was awarded to support transitional shelter services for victims of domestic violence and their children.

Good Grief of Northwest Ohio – a grant of $20,000 was awarded to support bereavement and grief counseling services for children and their care givers.

Greater Toledo Community Foundation – a grant of $10,000 was awarded to support the community-wide Pre–Kindergarten Initiative.

Monroe Street Neighborhood Center – a grant of $10,000 was awarded to support the Freedom Schools summer enrichment and reading program.

Toledo Alliance for Performing Arts – a grant of $10,000 was awarded to support the Community Music Lessons program.

TutorSmart – a grant of $10,000 was awarded to support academic tutoring services.

University of Toledo Foundation – a grant of $10,000 was awarded to support Reach Out and Read, an early literacy program.

The Oswald Supporting Organization was created by the late Joan and Chuck Oswald in 2000 to support projects in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan that enable families to develop skills to nurture each other and to promote the advancement, self-sufficiency and intellectual, social, emotional and cultural growth of woman and children.
