TOLEDO, OHIO, January 6, 2021 – The Board of Trustees of Greater Toledo Community Foundation recently awarded grants totaling $1,675,000 from its ProMedica Junction Neighborhood Fund to 13 area nonprofit organizations. Greater Toledo Community Foundation is the largest philanthropic organization in northwest Ohio, committed to building healthy communities and promoting the responsible stewardship of resources. Grants were awarded in the following categories to the following organizations:
Education and Training: To support afterschool programming, pre-k and kindergarten readiness, and social and emotional learning for youth.
• Toledo Museum of Art: $126,000
• Girls on the Run: $31,500
• Girl Scouts of Western Ohio: $15,000
Health and Wellness: To support neighborhood safety and environmental health
• Urban Wholistics: $72,000
Jobs and Finances: To support workforce development, entrepreneurship and business development, and financial literacy and counseling.
• Junction Coalition: $50,000
• Zepf Center: $185,000
• Art Tatum Zone: $300,000
Stable Housing: To support homelessness prevention, homeownership, repairs and renovations.
• Habitat for Humanity – Rehab Project: $155,000
• Habitat for Humanity – New Build Project: $127,000
• Ability Center: $50,000
• Lucas Housing Services Corporation: $141,500
• Zepf Center: $70,000
• Art Tatum Zone: $100,000
Basic Needs: To support general safety net services (food, childcare, transportation, etc.) that support lower income households in the Junction Neighborhood.
• Martin Luther King Center Kitchen for the Poor: $140,000
• Family House: $62,000
• Neighborhood Health Association of Toledo: $50,000
