TOLEDO, OHIO, January 7, 2020 – The Board of Trustees of Greater Toledo Community Foundation recently awarded grants totaling $283,723 from its Community Funds to nine area nonprofit organizations.

Grants from the Foundation’s unrestricted funds (aka Community Funds) are considered two times annually, and are awarded only to nonprofit, charitable organizations. The next deadline for receipt of proposals is January 15, 2020. Greater Toledo Community Foundation is the largest philanthropic organization in northwest Ohio, committed to building healthy communities and promoting the responsible stewardship of resources.

Grants were recently awarded to the following organizations:

Adopt America Network – $70,100 was awarded to support the adoptive and kinship family permanency project.

Avalon Foundation – $6,000 was awarded to support the kc4k youth leadership program.

Baby University – $30,130 was awarded to support the Baby University Graduate Program.

Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation – $50,000 was awarded to support Badges for Baseball programming at the Toledo youth development park.

Council of Michigan Foundations, Inc. – $5,000 was awarded to support the Great Lakes Funders Collaborative.

EVAC Project Inc. – $2,500 was awarded to support an independent evaluation of EVAC programming.

PCs for People – $50,000 was awarded to support the digital inclusion for northwest Ohio project.

St. Paul's Community Center – $24,993 was awarded to support an independent evaluation of shelter operations and services.

Toledo Public Schools – $45,000 was awarded to support the Expectant and Parenting Student program.
