TOLEDO, OHIO, July 17, 2020 – The Board of Trustees of Greater Toledo Community Foundation recently approved two grants totaling $15,000 from the COVID-19 Response Fund to support northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan nonprofit organizations, bringing the total distributed since March  31st  to $450,708.

The following two grants totaling $15,000 were recently approved through the fund.

Friends of Lucas County Children Services: To distribute diapers and wipes to low-income parents.

Food for Thought Toledo: To provide food supplies to greater Toledo area residents.

Greater Toledo Community Foundation created the COVID-19 Response Fund to support northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan nonprofit organizations as they assist in responding to the spread of COVID-19 in the community and experience financial challenges in doing so.

A second COVID-related fund – the Community Resilience Fund – to address long-term recovery efforts of individuals and organizations as a result of the COVID outbreak – was introduced on May 27, 2020.  Nonprofit organizations implementing long-term recovery initiatives related to the coronavirus outbreak can submit a proposal through the Foundation’s online application process.  Grant Guidelines and additional details of this new funding opportunity are provided at https://www.toledocf.org/grants-2/

Donations from the community can be made to both funds online at https://toledocf.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/list

GTCF will continue to make grants from the COVID-19 Response Fund and the Community Resilience Fund as long as donations are received. GTCF will provide grants to northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan nonprofits and will not be giving money directly to individuals. GTCF is distributing 100 percent of funds raised.
